This design was created for a styled shoot to promote bridal boutique Nell’Amore in Halstead. It all started at the beginning of 2012 when I was asked by Ross of Ross Dean Photography and Caroline of Endless Love Wedding Planners if I would like to provide some stationery for the styled shoot they were planning. Of course I jumped at the chance! The shoot was bringing together some fantastic suppliers based in or around the Suffolk area and was to be based at Colne Valley Railway in Castle Hedingham.
So I set to work researching vintage railway tickets, signage and fonts etc taking much of my inspiration from the gorgeous Orient Express carriages. The carriage that was going to be used at Colne Valley had burgundy and gold fittings, which is the reason behind my chosen colours. I wanted the stationery to look like it was designed especially for that carriage.

I produced a double sided invitation that had a tear off RSVP stub like a traditional train ticket and was worded as if the wedding would take place aboard the train. An Order of the Day booklet, a Menu and some Luggage Tags with various phrases, accompanied this. Of course this design can be altered to suit any type of venue and style of wedding.
After months of hard work and lots of planning the shoot took place on a sunny day at the end of March 2012 resulting in some fantastic images and a great film by Alex from Camera on Films. Also we were all thrilled when the wedding blog Whimsical Wonderland Weddings featured the shoot and film on their blog!
